SAFETY MAINTENANCE

When we talk about "Safety Maintenance" we're addressing the systems in your car that keep you running and SAFE. The brake system allows you to slow down and stop the vehicle safely. A poor brake system will endanger your life, those in your vehicle and those traveling around you. The starting and charging system also keeps electricity flowing through your car. A poor starting or charging system can strand you and place you in a precarious situation. If your cooling system doesn't work you'll destroy the internal parts in your engine. Keeping these systems maintained and in good working order will allow you many hours and miles of good SAFE driving!

      COOLING SYSTEM

Have you ever had that sinking feeling when you were driving down the road and right smack dab in the middle of nowhere, you look at your temperature gauge and it's climbing into the red part of your gauge? Then you see the steam coming from under your hood?

Nothing is more dangerous to your engine than heat. In today's engines parts can easily warp or melt in a high temperature condition. Something as simple as a bad belt, hose or water pump can cost several thousand dollars to repair. The cooling system part of the safety class will show you how to minimize this  from happening to you!

      THE BRAKE SYSTEM

Most people only think of their brakes when they are noisy or they fail to do their job. Sometimes that's too little too late. I once had a truck that seemed to work well, but I didn't inspect the brake system. As I was driving down the road a brake hose cracked and as I came to the next stop I pressed the brakes and NOTHING HAPPENED!

Don't let this be you! There are many items in the brake system that can compromise your safety. Take the Safety Maintenance part of the class and learn how to inspect the critical parts of your brake system.

      STARTING, CHARGING           & ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

You left a late night at work and you stop for a cup of coffee. You get back in your car, turn the key and NOTHING HAPPENS!

There isn't a more neglected system than the electrical system in your car and it's one of the most used systems. People use it when the car is on or off. It's used to start the car and to light your way. It keeps your battery charged and runs all the electronics.

Learn the components and how to troubleshoot common problems found in your electrical system. Keep your car running and the tunes jamming.
